Budget Deck: Unlimited Life Works (Dragon World)

Tachimas here. Filthy Buddyfight casual writing a casual blog about a certain gimmicky deck.

Disclaimer: I played Buddyfight a while back before Hero World became a thing. I was never good at the game and no one near me played it so I played only online, so my Buddyfight skills are gonna be preety bad and since I can't test the deck against any of the good players/decks, take my words with a grain of salt.

Anyways way, way back in the days, I was one bored man trying to make Blue Sky Knights, probably the worst Armorknight archetype there is so far, good. Well guess what? It didn't work. Well obviously. I did make a few observations though, namely:

1. There are only a few Blue Sky Knights that are actually good, namely Slenje Dragon and his size 2 clone (now adding Blue Systemic into the mix). Blue Sky Drum is mildly decent, but not decent enough to save Blue Sky Knights from the trash of abomination they remain to be.

2. The only 2 good cards required you to have an open center, which lead you to focus your playstyle on the Gao Formation... while having literally no offense whatsoever and not even that reliable of a healing

Both are preety obvious points, but the testing helped clarify them, and they turned out to be a bigger problem than I thought it would be.

Then I became bored and looked through the Dragon World spells for anything interesting, and I found... Force Return.

Oh boi.

Let's be real, Force Return on his own is preety bad. A minus point for being a spell, a minus point for doing nothing but gain one life point and benefits for things that have skills that trigger when you play them/self resting cards, which is... not worth a lot.

But when you combine it with Blue Sky Knights, it becomes preety damned decent.

Assuming you have a Slenje or two, and you call both of them, you gain 2 life points. If you use Force Return on them, you get another one, and you call them down again. That's an easy +5 life points. And plus, if you use, uh, Green Dragon Anthem, you can gain 9 life points. This goes on and on with Boomerang Dragon shenanigance, Blue Systemic shenanigance, Psychic KnifeHiding Sword Dragon (if you find it) and etc, you get... a really annoying deck to fight against. Like, it's to the point that you can live through... 3 turns of Duel Sieger "Tempest Enforcer" and one turn of Turbulence, use no shields whatsoever, and still live through it (most of your Dragon Shields exists for monsters buuuut meh). All while staying above 20 life points. Hell, probably not even Bal would be able to kill you in this scenario.

Here we have it folks, the ultimate stall out deck. You don't even have to try and kill your opponent, you can just do that slowly since your opponent certainly aint ever killing you kek.

The deck does have problems though. If your opponent plays smart, and actually attacks monsters, you're gonna have a hard time geting those back without a reliable drawing engine (it's to the point I run Buddy Help in the deck lol), although you're probably gonna just use Shields to protect them anyways. Then, if a really, really tanky Size 3 blocks your way (cough cough Ancient World) you'll have a really, really hard and annoying time playing against that. Which is one of the reasons you run Dragoknuckle in the deck despite it costing a kidney (also makes Buddy Help slightly better).

Decklist:
NOTE: This is only an example decklist and should only be used as a base. I recommended that you create your own decklist through your own testing. I found this decklist to fit me, but it is up to you to find a decklist that fits you.

4x Steel Fist, Dragoknuckle

Effectiveness: 7/10

Price: $40-50

Competitive: Maybe

Final Words: This is a really fun deck that can mess up your opponent as hard as Angel Feather can with the right setup and when played right. The downside is that Dragoknucle is too big of a staple to not run, but that's basically the only expensive card in the deck. You can start your life shenanigance the moment you hit turn 3, if you have the resources. Overall, the deck is solid, but preety passive and one-dimension, but despite that still decent.
